Just checking in again, in case any 1974 Soccer players do the same. We will be trying to contact Varsity Soccer players that played on the 1974 CIF Champion team. It will include Classes of 1974, 1975, 1976, and as I recall maybe even one or two from 1977 (Tracy Ely?)?

Anyway, more to follow. Thanks to those players who have already checked in!

Stefan, I didn't know about Ann, I am sorry to hear of your family's loss - even though it has been so long, i know that it's always 'right there'. And yes, The Swedish Corner Smorgasbord is a place I remember fondly. Peace.

The loss of Beth Sampson will have an impact for all who knew her. My families thoughts and prayers go out to her family and especially her two young children. May God give them support, grace and mercy throughout their lives.

On a different subject does anyone know if there will be a 20 year reunion planned for the class of 83?

Many thanks to the fine men and women of the TPD for addressing this issue in a prompt and professional manner. Let's not have this become the "rumor board." Many of us would like to see this case come to a final conclusion with the perpatrator behind bars. However we need to remember that by spreading rumors and names around, regardless the source, we may damage the case. There is also an issue of libel and slander.
From: Torrance Police Department () on Thu Aug 15 16:48:54 2002
Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself. I am Detective Walt Delsigne with the Torrance Police Department. The postings on this web site regarding the Laura Lesinski murder case was brought to my attention this afternoon. In reading these postings, I was quite amazed. Amazed of how rumors can sometimes start and then take on a life of their own. I don't fault anyone for this because, after all, it is human nature. I know that the tragic murder of such a young girl must have effected many of you, including those who really didn't even know Laura and I'm sure everyone would like to see this case solved, with the exception of course of the person who is actually responsible for Laura's death. As much as I would love to announce that we have finally solved this case, I cannot. The fact is we have made no arrest in this case. The information that is being spread on this web site is not true and it would be unfair at this point to single out any one individual and naming that individual as the person responsible for such a horrific crime. This case is still considered "open" and we have been, and will be, conducting further investigation into Laura's death. I invite anyone who feels they have viable information that might help us solve this case to contact me directly. My desk telephone number is (310) 618-5584.

From: RW (81) on Wed Aug 14 22:45:34 2002
Do you even think before you type/speak? What we talk about in private stays there. Don’t air it on the board. (The Mom Version) I have corresponded with Maureen and I’d say she has a pretty good source but let’s see what we can find out from the Police.
From: Deb (77) on Wed Aug 14 22:22:59 2002
Don't jump on my ass brother dear. I am NOT the one who accused him. I posted a response believing that Maureen had it on good authority that it is true. You and I spoke on the phone earlier after reading the post and you were believing it as well. I wont post what else you said about it. Anyway, I too have been researching it with no confirmation so I have sent an e-mail to the Torrance PD with a copy of the post asking if it is true or not....
From: RW (81) on Wed Aug 14 20:50:29 2002
Ok I have looked and inquired to several sources regarding this. So far it can’t not be confirmed. So please let’s not accuse someone if we don’t have any proof. Discuss yes but to say we had a murderer at our house without proof is bullshit. You should know better than that Deb.

John if your out there I apologize for my sister.

WOW.... I had heard rumors that he had always been a suspect. Before this happened John had been to our home SEVERAL times. Rich and I grew up with him. It's pretty freaky to know that you knew a murder for many years. I am glad that her murder is solved and hopefully it can bring some sort of justice to her death and hopefully some sort of peace and closure for the family knowing her murderer has been caught.
From: Monica Cilva Root (81) on Wed Aug 14 16:26:35 2002
I found a little blurb on the Daily Breeze website on "cold cases". Hopefully they will keep us posted on the resolution and prosecution of Laura's murderer. She is gone, but for many of us not forgotten.

Hello All, This message is for those that have asked me about getting their yearbook online (for the benefit of those not aquainted, please cut & paste the following address: www.SouthHighSchool.com) My offer is simple; If you would like to have your class yearbook online & have access to a scanner (or know of someone who will scan the pages), I would be willing to do the rest. The important thing is to give me plenty of time (as this is a labor of love & NOT a paid endeavour...) and most importantly is to have the pages scanned in a high quality format. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to get your graduating class yearbook online, I think it would be great to have multiple years for all to see ! Take care, Dan

For Those Who Suffer..................... For those who suffer, and those who cry this night, give them repose, Lord; a pause in their burdens. Let there be minutes where they experience peace, not of man,but of angels. Love them, Lord, when others cannot. Hold them, Lord, when we fail with human arms. Hear their prayers and give them the ability to hear You back in whatever language they best understand.*** Amen

Joe, I sent you mail. To all the SHS alums that knew and loved Sue, memorial info is posted on the Delphi board. I deeply regret not being able to attend. It occured to me today that I'm walking around thinking Sue Sue Sue, when I hould be thinking about Jerry and the boys, her parents and siblings. Sue is in a better place, watching over us all. Her family, though, like all of us, will suffer without her. My prayers and thoughts are with Jerry and the boys, and all the Fullmers (especially Don) who loved Sue even more than we did. My heart is heavy indeed.

Bill M(68)I'm at the Torrance Airport Sta. these days. I do remember Chris Parker. Say hello for me. Gary is a Capt. with LA County Fire. Lives in Thousand Oaks. He did leave early in eighth grade. Have a great time in Maui. Are you going to see Bill A while you're there? As we get older, we may get wiser, but I think our memory may leave us. At least that's what the wife says. I recently saw an old snapshot of us at Disneyland having lunch. If I can find it again I'll let you know. It appears we may have been about 12 or 13 yrs. old. If memory serves, it may have been a trip with Co-Rec. Great memories. Chris.

She was a wonderful person. I like you had no idea of any ongoing health problems, but with the heart one never knows. For me it is not Sue's death that is the important thing, it was her life. She knew how to live and enjoy others and give to them. We are all only lent to each other for a brief time. Her time was brief but her impact great. I will always remember a lady dancing up a storm in her hawaiian outfit at the 2000 multiyear reunion wearing her red carnation and loving every minute of the evening. Rest in peace my dear Sue and make a place for us as we come to see you in the years to come.

We are going to Maui Tuesday, will meet up with Chris Parker if you remember him. He has lived there for years now. I ran into Terry Tamble this week at a Rite Aide. He is doing good. Beth is survived by her husband, Doug; sons, Jake and Joey; parents, Shirley and Jerry Sampson; mother and father-in-law, Pat and Doug Fuhlrodp; brothers, Chris (partner Jeff), Steve, and Neil; sister-in-laws, Carol and Keena; and nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Tim, Neil Michael, Kyle, Kaylan, and Conley. A date has been set for a Very casual picnic for our 25th Reunion. Saturday, August 10, 2002, from 4pm til 8pm at Rocketship park. Then at 8pm, folks can split off to have smaller gatherings, goof off, whatever. It is a "bring your own blanket and basket" affair, and we will be collecting ideas for the 30th. Please spread the news to any classmates you are in contact with, and the info will also be posted (although last-minute) on Classmates.com.

Intensive; Great, good luck, now learn to read. This is an alumni board. IE. South High Alumni Message Board. Best senior class ever, how many times have we heard that? Just keep your head in the books and don’t worry about anything else. A mind is a terrible thing to waste and we don’t want you to waste yours. Now have a totally bitchen summer!
