She is a teenager and should NOT have done it, but you know how it goes.....PLEASE....don't put sites here that once someone goes there, there is endless porn on the computer. How do I make it go away? ANYONE out here that knows how to....please tell me!
Oh, yeah, Allen.....GROW UP AND GET A LIFE!!I'm a Mom trying to keep my computer as "clean" as possible.

It's that time again!
On Saturday, August 2, 2003 (this summer!) from 10am - 2pm, will be the Annual South High School 70's Alumni Picnic and Get-Together.....Created by popular demand, and successful experimentation!

It is a casual, bring your own blanket and basket affair, with games and crafts on the side for any kids who show up (no babysitting provided) and need something to do while us "grownups" have fun catching up, collecting information and ideas, and sharing photos and memories. The location this year will be DePortola Park, in Torrance. This is the same location we had it last year and it was perfect. BYOB---That's bring your own BLANKETS! (Sorry, no alcohol allowed in the park)

There will also be a 7pm (that Sat. evening) get-together at the National Sports Bar & Grill. We met here a few years ago for a reunion and this is a fun place. You can eat and enjoy a few refreshments as well as play games, pool, etc, in a great atmosphere. Dinner and refreshments are a no-host event. National Sports Bar & Grill, 310-534-5700, 3210 W. Sepulveda Blvd., Torrance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is separate from the more formal Class Reunion events that are being planned by individual classes, so if you have a 30th, 25th, 20th, etc., reunion for your class this summer, please note this is not related to those events.

The SHS picnic will always be held the first Saturday in August each summer, and you can always get the latest information from Frank@FrankKenny.com, and several other sites, including the South High Activities Office. Please contact Frank if you would like a table (station/space) set up for your class year for sign-ups, addresses, and suggestions for future events, and if you have a class representative who can be present to help collect info for your class.

If you are interested in donating time or materials for the kids' craft table, please contact Suzy at artmombo@hotmail.com. The same for outdoor games and activates which we will provide on a donation basis as well. This worked great last year. Just bring items you don't care about replacing, and are happy to donate to the kids.

We hope you can meet us there. Last year some people even brought extra interesting food to share from their blanket. Also.....Great photos from the old days. Spread the word!

This news is going out to anyone who graduated from SHS in the 70's, so let your old friends know that you can meet and catch up with them there, even if they were in a different graduating class than you. The more the merrier!

Please contact Frank to confirm your attendance at the park as well as your attendance at the dinner at the National Sports Grill. It's real helpful if you can RSVP so we can plan the dinner. Frank can be reached at Frank@FrankKenny.com or 310-318-9386 X-329.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Frank & Suzy

DUN NEED TO KNOW, let me get this straight: Your mom drops you off at school and gets a ticket and you come to an ALUMNI site to complain? Seems to me like you are complaining to the wrong people. But if you think that complaing to the school about it will make you feel better, go ahead. They may not care either as it was probably the TORRANCE POLICE DEPARTMENT that issued your mom the "TRAFFIC TICKET." What did your mom do, drop you off on PCH? You might as well stop on the freeway.
From: RE: DUN NEED TO KNOW!! () on Thu Jul 3 15:02:22 2003
Uhhhh dude! Why you griping to us? This is not the schools website. We are alumni who ALREADY graduated. DUHHHHHH
Call the school, go to the Torrance Unified schoold district website and gripe or that actual schools website.

What's your problem, people?? YOu people give us a ticket just because my mom dropped me off at the front of the school... for summer school, you people should have made the traffic more faster and easier... no wonder you people are not successful... we got a ticket because of YOU!!! you freaking ass... what a fags... it's mom's right to drop us off and go to work..but you just charge us for something.. dropping us off.. psh...SOUTH HIGH... it's not even a school... better do something about it...fags

Has anyone ever heard the phrase'
"Hit the nail on the head",
"Bullseye", "Hole in one" etc..
Well, our good friend 'There and back' has done it all, with flying colors.

Gangsta said "I go to Continuation School, because I can't handle real learning establishments. Plus, my goal in life is to become a gangster. That's all that can be expected from someone like myself, forced to live on the east side of Torrance. I'm angry about that."

Well Put!

Torrance is nothing, why don't you move to Bosnia, Kosovo or South Africa, and claim your territory. Thanks

I attended both Torrance and West, and once spoke the bastardized language that these losers are trying to speak. I'll be happy to translate for my fellow Spartans, as 2 years at south have taught me to use proper English.

Desiree said "Is it true that David Brown was recently beaten up? Someone let me know!"

Gangsta said "I go to Continuation School, because I can't handle real learning establishments. Plus, my goal in life is to become a gangster. That's all that can be expected from someone like myself, forced to live on the east side of Torrance. I'm angry about that."

Lexie said "All the hot guys in the South Bay go to South High School. I'm jealous. Please feel sorry for me because I have attended both West High and Torrance."

I hope that helps you, my fellow Spartans. We must have sympathy for those less fortunate than we are. Schools like West and Torrance don't have web sites like this because none of their graduates are literate enough to set one up. The brightest students at those schools post here, and you can see just how "bright" they are. It's a shame.

You are correct, Kelly. It's a shame that the incredible debt that wacko in office leaves behind isn't the worst of his legacy. As it stands it will take years of decent democratic leadership to reverse the economic effects of yet another Rebulican idiot, never mind the countless lives lost or destroyed by that madman's attempt to show off for his Daddy. Next up..Korea. All he needed was that tiny success to further convince himself that he knows what he is doing. Maybe "Carl" had it right when he said other nations should start kissing Bush's ass. He is dangerous. He does just what he wants. There is a reason we don't let kiddies play with power tools. He is a perfect example of what horrors can happen.

GB 85 ....no worries....I was aware of being misunderstood at the time,,,, and I clearly didn't hold it against you, I respected your frame of mind in coming to the defense of your 11 year old, perhaps my compliment was not as clear as it could have been,,,,never the less I don't hate anyone, there is nothing to forgive ,,,we are all human....life is good, put a smile on your face and have a great week (*_,*)

Hi guys. Ashley here. I am just sending you guys the latest news. My wonderful husband (Bryan D. Bennetts) and I are expecting a baby in the early part of November 2003. We are incredibly happily married, and this time it is for keeps! I figured that I had to go through a couple of "hiccups of note" before I FINALLY discovered and married my prince. (kidding). But seriously speaking though, Bryan is truely my best friend, and we are really doing well. Also, we have just acquired a brand new Siberian Husky puppy called Malibu, and she is adorable. Our 8 year old son Dustin is doing well in 2nd Grade, and our house in Phoenix (AZ) is flourishing. Bryan is also doing well in his physical therapy job, and I am doing really well in mine. Bryan also coaches ASU rugby in Tempe, and I am playing for the ASU women's rugby team. It is great. In closing, I hope that you are all doing well, and good luck out there. Bye.
Ashley Bennetts.

Aloha , Jessica Long 2003.
Based on what you have said, I feel that you are having no problem being exactly who you are and will therefore also have no problem gaining the respect of the others in your current graduating class. I'm impressed.Moving is a big deal and your handling it well. Your anticipation of high hopes and a great year at South is not only obvious but VERY POSITIVE. (*_,*).If I were your age and a Senior at South again, I'd be sure to make a point of meeting you to ask you out.
Since , I am a High School Counselor make sure to take your SAT's. Friday was the deadline (post mark )for the next SAT and the last one is in May so sign up asap if you have not done so already, get your college applications in as early as possible, or do what they call " early apps" , and contact your previous teachers and Counselor(s) in order to have as many letters of recommendation as possible to accompany you college apps; since avery advantage is important on college entrance( it would be prudent to write down your clubs, sports, community service resume and provide it to each person your get a letter of recommendation for so they can put forth the best letter on your behalf), also do your scholarship applications as soon as possible.
Best of Everything to you Jessica, you are a breath of fresh air to this site, and if no one has said so yet, WELCOME, as once you graduate you will be one of us, in the meantime if you need something just ask , because the people here are a wealth of information and countless years of experience and wisdom..

Tom ,your resume while indicating your current state of unemployment does not provide any information as to what it is that you do or can do.
A tip on selling anything or yourself: Introduction, product presentation, close.
I'm certain that you have many skills, but in order for anyone here or elsewhere to assist you , more information about yourself would be needed. Also , accentuate the positive in relationship to things in general and especially yourself and it will increase the successfulness of your job search.

From the looks of it it's appears everyone has taken advantage of their South High education and are doing quite well. Unfortunately, my life took a differet direction. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my message. We did order a copy of his birth certificate but only his new adopted info comes on it. We have also contacted the La County of Adoptions but they seem to have misplaced his file and we have gone on a search list. We have waited 3 years already. So we were sorta put on hold at that end and thought we would check with people who may have known someone who knew someone who knew them. Like I said, pretty far fetched. Thanks again for your info. If there is anyone else out there that might have any other ideas or suggestions , we would love to hear from you. We ourselves have alittle more info in regards to his parents but we realize how sensitive of a subject this may be and are trying to get word out there without upseting anyone. Thank You

Jennifer, your husband born in 1967 in Torrance would have to have a birth certificate ,perhaps at the L.A. Hall of Records, since it's LA County a copy is $12.00 last I needed a duplicate for one of the boys, it will list the first, middle( if any) , and last name of the mother, and father ( if listed) Jerrie , Linda, and Scott Jacskson were at South classes of 68,69, and 70 respectively, seems to me there was a Warren at South but it would take looking through a yearbook and I'm sure that South has one on file in the Office. If you find a first and last name of one of the parents you may then check the LA County on line records and enter the 1st and last names for that person ie: birth, death,marriage... I know death records give a last address , then you could go their and do a Columbo with the present owner and neighbors..............good luck and aloha

Hello, I'm hoping that some one might be able to help me. This is sorta far fetched but we don't want to leave ay stone unturned. My husband was born in Torrance California in 1967 and then put up for adoption. The only info that we have was a last name of Warren and a last name of Jackson and we know that they were both 18 at the time of his birth , so we thought we might check with anyone in the class of 67 or 68 to see if anyone may be familar with this stuation or these people.we do not want to interupt anyones life in a negative way. We are really in need of Medical history and would of course love to find any birth relative if possible. Any help will be appeciated. We live out of state now and are limitd to info. Thank you.

Oh, Byon. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. It sounds like she was well-loved by many people. And it's obvious that she raised a good son in you. Keep her in your heart and she'll be with you always. May the bonds of your family and friends give you strength and solace in this very difficult time.

I did not know Mary Jo " Ho " Garrabrant, but I do know she was one of us and to lose anyone within us saddens me. My thoughts and sincere condolances go out to her children and her family, it is hard enough at an older age to lose a parent the loss for children magnifies that loss times infinity, which is truly sad. My heart goes out to these children, and my hopes go with them for their future.

Helen, thank you for your thought, I've always liked you ever since seeing your first positive postings quite some time ago.

Aloha

She leaves her husband, Barry (Torrance High), three sons and one daughter and five grandchildren, numerous relations and scores of friends. She also leaves a legacy of fun, laughter, and love. So many memories, Ho, you were truly a one-of-a-kind. Till we meet again.
