I hated the cliques but LOVED my friends. Had great ones because I was involve in athletics. I will never regret that one moment. Favorite moment was going to CIF finals. Worst moment was loosing to Torrance. But as I understand it, my girls came back after I graduated and WON CIF. Good to go. way to get back that South Soccer Name!

ZACK... Glad to see you've had a change of heart. I think I speak for all of us when I say: Welcome to the adult world. Hold on to those precious memories you have of South - treasure them forever. In ten years you'll see just how normal everyone turns out.

I graduated. :) I take back what I said about South High being a laughable little soceity. School isn't supposed to be a soceity at all. It's supposed to be an environment for learning. And the environment that's presented by staff is great. I really love south. But the students at south are so ridiculous and harsh that it makes it hard for us to learn. The bathroom situation was ludicrous but in no way did I mean to put down South High. Proud to be a Spartan, Zack

I would love to see more messages from the Faculty/Staff. They put up with us during our toughest hormone-infested years. Now we look back and think "I wonder whatever happened to...", just as we do our long-lost friends. Whether you would like to admit it or not, they truly cared for our well-being. So... where are they now?

It is really fun to read the messages from all the different classes. Things don't seem so much different. We thought the place was a bore and couldn't wait to leave, then after a few years of responsibility and being on your own, you look back and those days had quite a charm!!! What ever happened to that energy level!!!!
I am trying to find and old friend Jerry Davoli '65. I recently heard he moved back to the South Bay. Has any one seen or heard from him? I saw his name on the reunion list, so pass this message on if anyone can. Thanks, jane

-------------------------------------
I want to take this opportunity to thank Byon for his HUGE contribution in making this website a reality. His only profit being that the satisfaction of his fellow classmates that were and will be, are able to keep in touch, and to sustain a respect for the past as well as make a path for future has-been's of SHS. I am impressed as well as disgusted by some of the notations on this site.
BUT- let's not forget - This IS America! If we filter and edit the content of this or any web-site, we then become another "Iron Curtain" Society, and then we would lose what we have achieved in our own wars and losses, and what we are all Proud to be called "The Free World". Any of you that don't seem to think so, should try to spend some time in another country (try India or The Philippines). Then maybe you will be a little humbled when you think that we have it bad.
I do not blame the person(s) whom place 'hate' mail on this site, as I know that in a few years, after the hormonal curve starts to calm, and after a few 'real life' experiences, this trivial content will be laughable to even the person who wrote this.
Once again - "Thanks for the memories" South High School, and all that it contains. Times and people change, but the Spirit doesn't. GO SPARTANS! (...and that ugly green that is our color!) - RJL (1986)

Just skimmed thru messages during a slow day at work. Noticed current students think there are a lot of rules and the bathrooms are gross--I think we felt the same in the 70s--tho everyone sure seemed to look the other way when it came to drugs and smoking. Also noticed that hardly anyone from the 70s writes messages--must be because no one knows about this site. Does anyone know what became of Shannon Scully (74) whose dad was the track/xcountry coach for years?

I share Wayne's thoughts about our ten year reunion. I just wish I had stayed longer and talked more with some of the people I haven't talked with in years. I also wish someone had made some formal announcment about the existence of this great website...at the very least, I'd like to see everyone who submitted to the bio book add themselves to Byon's alumni directory.

Well, I just now got back from the Class of 90 ten-year reunion. Definitely a unique experience, and I'm glad I went. It's just weird how some people look exactly the same as they did ten years ago, and others I couldn't even recognize! It was also weird how some people that I never really talked to back in high school talked to me like we were long time friends catching up or something. Anyway, there's more I could say, but I just wanted to drop a brief note here to say I had a good time.
