Hey folks! Just came across this site, and hope to have some old friends from either Walteria Elementary or South High respond to this. And if you remember my brother, Jerry Dacut, or my sisters, Toni, Debbie (former Homecoming Queen) or Margaret Dacut send a note to me and I'll forward it on. I'm doing great, have two beautiful children, have a great job in Marketing with Hewlett-Packard, and loving life! Moved to Minneapolis about 8 years ago for a job promotion(brrrrr!!) Hope to hear from you! :)

I heard on the grapevine that the plans for our 20th reunion have stalled, therefore, Bryson Martin and myself are going to make some plans. It needs to get going as so many people likely live out of the are or out of state and will need to make plans. We are looking into August or September at a local hotel in Torrance or Redondo or maybe even in the high school gym! Please feel free to drop a line if you want to help.

It is sad to see people reflect the days of tyrant rules as the best time of their pity lives. How can one look back at a place that is suppose to be a facility of education that only thrives on social promotion? The ones that accelerated quicker had to brake for the slower students. In the words of Darwin, only the strongest survive. Society does not need the feeble minded people. It is the second, third, fourth chance that school gives to student that makes them a worse person.
How many times will society accept a f***ed up person? How many times can you say “my bad” at a job and not worry about being terminated? The incident in Colorado is due to the school administration. For god-sakes they made a prologue before the incident. Perhaps, you can call me Mr. Pessimistic but school had gone on a downward spiral for as long as I was enrolled in public education.

It will be nice to meet up again with all those loyal patriots who would check out the American Flag by the office each morning - to see if there was an off-shore breeze - somedays the student body thinned out for a couple hours on good days, as I recall.

This has been the first time for me to be able to look over my experiences and value the important things. Hope we do have a twenty year reunion. Has anyone seen or spoken to Terri Clark? Since I graduated and went off to UCLA, CSUF, UCI and other to get degrees; won a national drag racing championship, an open tennis tournament, and a national best of show car show; was a nationally ranked masters track athlete. Seems like I did it all. But I did not keep in contact with any South High classmates except for Alan Walti (we worked for the same company). Wow!! What a great website. Here's a little bit about me. Married my beautiful wife Michelle in 1986. We have three great kids (David-13,Jessica-11,Derek-9). We live in the San Diego area (Lakeside). I work for a medium-sized, aerospace parts manufacturing company called Compucraft Industries Inc. Recently spent a great evening with James Kalinski (thank you again) and his wife Marianne and daughter Natalie, and Mark "Speedy" Gonzales. We talked over dinner about everybody we could think of. It was great!!! I was bummed about hearing how much fun James and Mark had had at the reunion. I really wish now that I was there. I was very busy this past summer, and never even thought that twenty years could have gone by already. I still get up to the Torrance area several times a year. My sister and my wife's brothers both live in the area. It amazes me each time I get up there, all the changes taking place. So many of the landmarks we grew to know have disappeared. Well i guess that's enough! Drop me line. I'd love to hear from everyone. Dave
